    Best Italian in Tampa

Exquisite authentic Italian one man show. Everyone in our party of eight was totally satisfied and amazed by the deliciousness. Generous portions of pasta and delicious cannoli!

New favorite Italian, real authentic, very reasonably priced Italian pastas. We ordered the antipasti, which was one of the many special items. Other special items included fried smelt and a rabbit dish. I am definitely looking forward to trying different specials in the future. From the ten regularly offered pasta dishes we ordered a spicy aglio e olio (spaghetti in a delightfully spicy and garlicy sauce) and the amatriciana with meatballs (penne with red sauce, bacon, and all things delicious). For dessert we couldn't resist the cannoli, and William (chef/owner) offered the tiramisu too. Both were incredible. With a hint of cinnamon, it was impossible not to very literally clean our plates. Outstanding meal, can't wait to come back!

    Authentic, Fresh, Homemade
We had a fantastic experience. From the lightly battered and fried smelt to the Tiramisu, this place was first class all the way. The smelt was light and flavorful. These are one of my favorites and they certainly did not disappoint. My son had spaghetti and meatballs and said the meat balls were delicious and way better than mine. I had the Puttanesca. It was spicy and just, well, perfect. The chef served it with a side of his homemade spicy olive oil so I could add more heat. We finished the meal with the Tiramisu which was exquisite.

We appreciated the personal touch. This is a one man show folks...personal service from the chef and then he makes the meals to order. Although, this place is so good he may need to invest in some extra help soon!!!!!

This was a great experience. He's doing it right...

Situated just outside of Seminole Heights, this hole in the wall place whips up some of the most authentic Italian food. Chef William is a one man show. I don't know how he is able to offer many pasta dishes as well as pork, lamb, chicken and seafood all in one night without missing a bit in quality. You are more than welcomed to bring your own wine and beer without corkage. We have tried everything from pasta to pork to lamb to tiramisu to cannoli and everything was delicious!

The chef was very hospitable and the food was delicious. I had the homemade lentil soup and a creamy pasta dish with smoked salmon. The soup was very fresh and flavorful. The salmon pasta dish was delicious as well! I have to admit, when my wife and I pulled up, we didn't know what to expect because the place is so tiny. All I can say is, don't judge a book by its cover.

Simply wonderful! I rarely give 5 stars but this bistro begs for it. It is tiny, only 3 tables and 10 chairs with limited parking in a small strip containing a barber and botanic/tarot place. The entire operation is one incredibly efficient guy from Abruzzo. The menu posted here is only the $9.95 lunch pasta specials, plus nearly as many other more elaborate dishes including seafood (frutti de mare) pasta and a rabbit dish, along with a variety of drinks, with cannoli and tiramisu for dessert. It is a one-man show...he busses tables, takes orders, brings water, cooks, serves and handles money. We got the only empty table and watched as he cooked for earlier customers, pausing only to give us water and menus. The carafe of water contained slices of carambola, mint and peels from lemon and oranges. From the time my friend and i ordered, it was exactly 10 minutes til we were served and he was also attending to other customers. The puttnesca and amartriciana were marvleous with extremely savory sauces. At his pace he can turn tables in about 45 minutes....also ideal for lunch breaks.
I wish him well and success at this location where several prior eateries have failed.....if quality can succeed, he will do well.

This is the place for authentic Southern Italian cuisine. A diamond in the rough. Parking is difficult and limited but its worth the challenge. I've been there twice so far and all the dishes I've had are extraordinary. The pasta is cooked to perfection. The menu is limited to pasta, but his daily specials is where it's at. Today I had the mackerel over pasta, and the meat from the fish just melted in my mouth. The pasta was simple with the rendered juice from the baked fish giving the pasta an incredible flavor. I have eaten a lot of mackerel (raw, fried, and ceviche) but never thought it would taste this good oven baked. The deep fried smelt over arugula and just squeezed lemon reminded me of flavors I only experienced in Italy. Can't wait to go back real soon.

If you see the place, you'd never think such amazing food comes out of such hole in the wall. Just four tables, only the cook, who was also the server was attending patrons. We had the bolognese and the aglio e olio, with some meatballs on the side. They were SO GOOD!!!
Is a limited menu, but that's perfect. The cook seems legit, and his food too!

This place is likely the best Italian restaurant in Tampa. It's very small but if you find an open table you will be impressed.

Drove past this little restaurant for several weeks, it's right around my house. Finally decided to stop in and the food was terrific. They don't have a liqueur licence but you can bring your own wine and beer. I don't know if they have bread they never served any and I didn't ask for it. This is a great little Italian restaurant and very reasonable.

Wow, very good! Wife brought home Tiramisu and Bolognese and it was fantastic! I'll be back!

This italian spot is sooo good! We got the Carbonara with sausage and the bruschetta for appetizer. The app was sweet from the tomatoes and seasoned just right. The Carbonara was creamy but not too saucy. The sausage had just the right seasoning. Only 5 tables and so cute and quaint. We are coming back and trying dessert!!! Service was awesome but we came the middle of the day on a Wednesday. Prices are descent as well.

I haven't had this good of Italian food since my grandmother's cooking when I was growing up. Outstanding food.

This was probably the best Italian I've had since I was in Rome. The staff is great and the atmosphere is truly authentic.

FYI BYOB .... food is off the charts good . Like previous reviews have stated , it's a one man show . Was shocked at how good the service and food were . Will definitely be back .

I am soo happy I used Yelp for lunch and trusted the reviews. What a little gem. Don't let the size fool you. There's big taste hiding in this little piece of Italy. If you're tired of the same ole same ole, I think you'll be quite happy with what Chef William cooks up fresh daily.

Amazing food! My new favorite place for Italian. Can't wait to go back and try another dish. The Carbonara and bruschetta were amazing!

This place was given a shot because of Yelp. Not just the reviews, but the fact that you have opinions from Elite users who deliver consistent write ups and really help to manage expectations.

Yes, the restaurant is tiny and you could miss it if you aren't paying attention, but this is one of those places that you will love if you know where to find them and are willing to give them a shot.

A chef who is an owner/operator, born and raised in Italy and brings his passion for cooking, is the kind of local business I love to support. It was a great experience chatting with him while he cooked and gave the impression of letting me into his kitchen while he plied his trade. All of our dishes were made from scratch and were absolutely delicious.

Personally, I always try a Carbonara as a "test" dish because it is tricky to make and usually acts as a good indicator of how other items will be prepared. I was not disappointed and look forward to sampling more of the menu.

Excellent! Our new favorite Italian restaurant. Everything is homemade. We tried 4 different dishes. Each one was excellent! We had Amatriciana with meatballs, Primavera with shrimp, Carbonara, and a caprese salad with wonderful, buttery burrada cheese.
    A must!
Don't be surprised by the location. We have found some of the best restaurants are located in strip malls or other unlikely places.

This is a small restaurant with big flavor. I had the carbonara and it was pretty good. Be prepared since the parking lot has barely 10 spaces at most but it's all good. It's a small restaurant so they only focus on a small amount of customers when they prepare their food. My wife had the chicken tortellini and that was pretty good. Keep up the good work.
